MARTIN VERREAULT


Martin Verreault completed a Bachelor’s degree (UQAM, 1990) and a Master’s degree in musical interpretation – classical guitar (McGill University, 1994) under the direction of Alvaro Pierri. Afterwards, he stays for four years in Switzerland where he studied with Maria-Livia Sao Marcos at the Geneva Conservatory of Music.

During this period, he took part in master classes with Léo Brouwer and Dusan Bogdanovic, in addition to perfecting his improvisation skills through the workshops of Swiss double bassist Jacques Siron..

Since his return to Quebec in 1999, Martin has been teaching guitar and constantly developing his method and pedagogy, while performing as a concert artist in Canada, Europe and Latin America. Since 2017, he teaching at Cégep de Drummondville..

LUCIEN BATTAGLIA

Lucien Battaglia started studying the guitar at the age of 11. Graduated from the Paris Guitar Academy in 1961, he participated under the direction of Pierre Schaeffer in training courses organized by the research service of the ORTF and studied the Treaty of musical objects, then, the following year, obtained a scholarship to study with Andrés Segovia at the International Academy of Music Chigiana in Siena, where he also takes composition courses taught by Angelo Francesco Lavagnino..
